The Oasis has a variety of activities including a store/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="8ba1ff44354e81341ad889f1c4602dd5" target="_blank" >grocery store and reading area. In the reading area is a teddy bear library in addition to traditional books.

A climbing apparatus is in the middle of a multi-story atrium at the ceiling-medallion/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="557374c3eebbede5d82414433d1f21e7" target="_blank" >center of the museum.

Outside of the Port Discover museum is the Power Point Live district with entertainment, bars, and restaurants.

As an interesting piece of cultural history, just a few blocks away was the Chandler Building that served as the first operational headquarters of the Social Security system. From 1936-1960 the first Social Security numbers were issued, the records kept and the benefits computed for millions of American workers and their families.
