The fifth avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, who is a dwarf, and it also refers to a therapeutic vomiting procedure in Ayurveda. As the fifth avatar of Vishnu, Vamana is a dwarf who tricks the demon king Bali and is also known as Trivikrama (“God of Three Strides”). In Ayurveda, Vamana is one of the Panchakarma cleansing therapies, used to induce vomiting under controlled conditions to remove excess Kapha dosha and toxins from the body. (Pakhale, 2019)
