Hope VI Main Street Grant
Created by former US Representative Jim Leach (R-IA) in 2003 and rolled out by HUD in 2005, Hope VI provides grants of up to $500,000 to close financing gaps in development projects that create affordable housing units; the program is available to communities with less than 50,000 residents, have fewer than 100 units of public housing, and have a comprehensive revitalization program in place.
