Re-used in the Church of Santa Costanza in Rome. Dated on stylistic grounds to the early Augustan period (C.40-20BC), this is one of the earliest examples of the new hybrid order which combines Ionic volutes with Corinthian acanthus leaves The first examples in position on a dated building are those of the Arch of Titus (soon after A.D. 81).
