blue-and-white wares
Chinese porcelain decorated under the glaze with blue pigment (normally cobalt oxide) and fired at high temperatures. Mass-production of blue-and-white wares began in the early 14th century at Jingdezhen (Jiangxi province) and developed under the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Blue-and-white wares were exported to the Islamic world and to Europe, where they were widely imitated. (Terry, 2022)
