The Canadian Inventory of Historic Building was an early attempt to provide a visual tool for blank" >target="_blank" >glossary/classification/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="5590ffab2b602c3ff15422dc732baa21" target="_blank" >classification of architecture. The multi-sheet survey form had a variety of illustrations grouped by category, for the surveyor to choose from. This system made possible detailed analysis of building features, and analyzing data about buildings on a macro level.
