The Rev. Gordon V. Smith, Priest-in-charge of St. James’ EpiscopalChurch, is a graduate of Kalamazoo College, class of 1928, and the General TheologicalSeminary, New York City, class of 1931. He was ordained Deacon on Easter Day, 1931, inProvidence, Rhode Island, by the Most Rev. James DeWolf Perry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. He assumed charge of St.James’ Church, Albion, in July 1931, and was madePriest-in-charge on October 28, 1931, upon his ordination to the Priesthood in Kalamazoo, Michigan, by the Rt. Rev. John N. McCormick, Bishop of the Diocese of Western Michigan.
