Carnell, Lola E. Beers, 1891

Lola Beers was born July 5, 1891, in Bureau County, Illinois. She married Robert Carnell in 1909. They moved to Albion in 1936 from Manistee County, Michigan, living here until retirement. The Carnells had four daughters.
Lola was a registered nurse, working as a private nurse to Mrs. J. L. Seaton for nine years and as a nurse at Sheldon Memorial Hospital for three. She and her husband operated the Carnell Nursing Home at 115 West Ash until 1953.
While living in Albion, Lola was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Grange, the Albion Women’s Club, the Business and Professional Women’s Club, and the First Methodist Church. She and her husband were noted for their outstanding rose gardens. Lola died in August, 1973, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
