Erie Street Dump

Description
This long time dump, was found to have contained illegal toxic chemicals. TheEPA forced the City of Albion to assume part of the environmental recovery andabatement costs. Portions of the site have been excavated, and the remainingcontents have been covered over with a seal of clay, intended to divert rainwater, and prevent a toxic plume from spreading and disrupting the areawatershed. The city continues to pay damages, placing a significant strain on the city budget.
