Sol Invictus, the Invincible Sun, often pictured with a radiant crown. The cult of Sol Invictus spread in Rome from the 2nd century AD and it reached its maximum in the 3rd century AD under the reign of the emperor Elagabalus who promoted his identification with the god Sol Invictus Elagabal.
