Cage construction or skeleton construction with a structural framework of steel columns and beams combined with various types of floor decks, including reinforced concrete, floor arch, steel decking, steel lath and concrete, and various exterior wall systems, including architectural terra-cotta, curtain wall, and masonry; may be fastened with rivers, bolts, or welds; common for large buildings by 1890.
