STANLEY S. KRESGE
1900-1985
Twentieth century disciple of Jesus Christ. Devoted member
and trustee of Metropolitan Methodist Church. Son of Sebastian
and Anna Kresge, beloved husband of Dorothy Mc.Vittie,
the Kresge name is synonymous with philanthropy across
America.
A plain man of Christian principles, homespun values and
unerring kindness, he cared for people as individuals. A
model of practical Christinaity, his great personal wealth
was used for the greater good.
His life fostered honesty and diligence, generosity and
grace. Devout in belief, constant in prayer, loyal to the end,
He said, “I found the Biblical way was the best way…”
The life I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God who
loved me and gave Himself for me.
