The nation of Libya is making efforts to preserve Greek ruins of blank" >target="_blank" >Cyrene along the Mediterranean coast. Apparently among the objectives of the project are to make this a carbon neutral zone. This is particularly important as this is one of the last natural glossary/landscapes/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="43b4fc3b86273ccbce88dd4e2f3f89a6" target="_blank" >landscapes along the Mediterranean with several species that cannot be found elsewhere.

This model of blending historical and environmental values and advocating for preservation might be a very good model for Detroit and other similar places that are in environmentally sensitive areas and that also have a concentration of historic resources.
