in the Choir of Governors, these angels are frequently pictured in shining armor, carrying battle axes, swords or spears. They are possessed of invincible courage. Sometimes they are shown bearing the symbols of our Saviour’s Passion. Their leader is Haniel. (Webber, 1927)
