triangular prism buttress
Isaac Kremer/ January 13, 2025/ / 0 comments
A wall strengthening feature where masonry or brickwork projects from the face of a building as a buttress, strengthening it. Often placed in relation to panels, arches, spandrels, windows, or other decorative features where reinforcement and extra strength is needed. Decoratively creates shadow and visual interest to the wall surface. (Kremer, 2025) Photo from Royal Oak, Michigan, 2007.
