An octagonal structure in Athens serving as a civic clock tower and a weather vane. Each side represented one of the eight prevailing winds associated with different seasons. Boreas is North wind, Zephyros is West wind which blows in spring time, and Lips is southwest wind which was time for sailing. Bronze pieces showed shadow which corresponded with lines to show the time of day. Also contained a water clock which on the inside also showed the times of the day. (Kremer, 2022)
