Samarqand ware

A type of Islamic pottery, probably produced in Samarqand (Uzbekistan) and/or Nishapur (Iran). The vessels are decorated with calligraphic inscriptions over a white slip. (Also spelled Samarkand ware). (Terry, 2022)
