raking stretcher bond

Differs from a stretcher bond in that each alternate course of stretchers I moved over less than half the length of a brick. Stretcher bond and raking stretcher bond are rarely used for solid walls because they lack headers which serve as bonding bricks for such walls. (Phillips, 1994)
