National Historic Vehicle Register

The National Historic Vehicle Register was created in 2013 in partnership with the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Historic American Engineering Record. The register records the important history of America’s significant automobiles. Selected vehicles are researched through written documents and spoken interviews, measured with laser scanners, and photographed from several angles. Each vehicle’s story is then preserved in the Library of Congress.
