A structural steel column composed of eight angle-irons riveted together in pairs, and stayed at short intervals by bent batten plates attached to the connected legs. The strut is in the form of a square cross, having the connected pairs of legs turned inward. Named after its inventor, John Gray, Esq., C.E. (Bridge, 2019)
