Bricks with a glazed coating on one or more sides. Glazed bricks have a clear glaze applied over a white or colored intermediate slip (coating). Glazed bricks are found in bathrooms or other areas where easy cleaning or light reflecting qualities is important. (Phillips, 1994) Some examples reach back to antiquity when experimentation with firing at high temperatures transformed and set paint into a glassy surface that once made ancient buildings shimmer.
