The social media metric that measures how much a post is motivating users to interact with it; engagement rate is calculated as the number of people who engaged with the post divided by the number of people who saw the post, multiplied by 100%; typically, higher engagement means the post was more likely to generate a response, but this calculation can be difficult to track since platforms have differing criteria for what counts as engagement.
