A pointed, pendant ornament used at the apex of a vault and to terminate protruding, elevated structures. Also see pendant. 2. An isolated corbel serving as a support for an oriel, column, statue, turret, or the like; especially one resembling an inverted cone or pyramid. (Harris, 1977)
