Catherine of Siena

Isaac Kremer/ May 3, 2025/ / 0 comments

From age 13 to 16, Catherine had the vision of being married to Jesus Christ. As the black plague settled across Europe she became well known for service and healing among people on the margins. She wrote letters to the Pope at Avignon. She visited him there and shortly after he returned to Rome. Her vision of Christ on the Cross showed her stairsteps to his heart. When she died at age 33 there was such appreciation of her, miracles associated with her, and her visions – she became part of the fabric of the heritage of the church. (Kremer, 2025)
