A section of the Internal Revenue Code that provides for the exemption of business leagues, chambers of commerce, membership nonprofits, real estate boards, and boards of trade which are not organized for profit and no part of their net earnings benefit any private shareholder or individual; 501(c)6 organizations may engage in lobbying that is aligned with their exempt purpose.
