A kind of hydraulic cement used in Belgium, composed of caustic lime from the Tournai limekilns and the slaty coal ashes left from the kiln fires. The lime is slaked by sprinkling with water, and the mixture, after being buried for some weeks, triturated, and dried, forms an excellent hydraulic cement. (Sturgis, 1900)
