An organizing structure for interpreting history that groups information about historic properties that share a common theme, common geographical location, and common time period; used as a foundation for decisions about the planning, identification, evaluation, registration, and treatment of historic properties, based upon comparative significance. This can be local or national context and generally is seen in National Register nominations and/or grant applications. (Kremer, 2025)
