Ahand-painted signthat outlasts the purpose it was originally painted for. Quite common in urban and downtown areas. Guidance on treatment of ghost signs varies with some recommending to restore these to their original appearance by paintingover the underlying sign. Another suggestion is to allow the signto gradually decay and disappear, thus making it more ghostly in appearance rather than brand new which is inauthentic to the current time.
