Governors
The Choir of Rulers or Choir of Governors is subdivided into three blank" >orders: target="_blank" >glossary/dominions/" class="glossaryLink" data-cmtooltip="565acf8ac306ceb14c6c93962c48e6c9" target="_blank" >Dominions, Virtues, and Powers. The group is pictures in early Christian painting as clad in long white albs, golden girdles, and green stoles. Upon their right hands are rings of gold. Within their right hands they carry a golden sceptre, cross-tipped, and in their left hands the letters IC XC, meaning Jesus Christ. They wear crowns. Sometimes they are pictured carrying globes. They are shown as possessing bodies resembling those of human beings. (Webber, 1927)
