1924 February 28, Newton Hall fire
The first fire on Starr’s campus occurred February 28, 1924 at NewtonHall. For an institution still struggling to stand on its own, that was a calamity of significantdimensions. In retrospect, though, it was a minor incident compared to the second fire a decade later.
