Term given to an exotic style that evolved in Western Europe in 18th c., derived from Moorish and Islamic sources: until recently, it was applied to Islamic architecture. (Curl & Wilson, 2016) One example is the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Charleston, South Carolina.
