A classification system, the National Taxonomy or Exempt Entities Code, created by the National Center for Charitable Statistics for nonprofits that divides the nonprofit sector into categories; generally, Main Street Programs fall into S20, S30, S31, S32, S40, S43, or S99. (Davis, 2025)
