Liturgical Movement

« Back to Glossary Index

A 20th century Movement the object of which was an increasing involvement of the laity in worship. It brought the altar nearer the congregation, physically and visually, and involved considerable ‘reordering’ of church interiors, often (but not always) to the detriment of the architecture. (Curl & Wilson, 2016)
