granite set
Small granite blocks, often bound together by mortar but sometimes set free, used for paving purposes. In tree wells they can allow water to infiltrate to the tree roots below ground, while being able for pedestrians to walk on without compacting soil. Photo from Easton, Pennslyvania, 2023.
