An insulating material composed of a mat of loosely felted fiber covered on one or both sides with paper or fabric, .25-1 inch thick and 17-36 inches wide; used within voids of wood frame construction. Also known as blanket insulation, quilt insulation. See also batt insulation, felt insulation. (Bucher, 1996)
