Archangels

Isaac Kremer/ September 9, 2023/ / 0 comments

Archangel is from the Greek word that means chief angel, from archos, chief or first, and angelos, messenger. Archangels were angels protecting the religion, while ordinary angels protected individual human beings. (Kremer, 2023)

These are winged beings, with human bodies, clad in full armor. They are led by St. Michael. The names of two of them are given in the Holy Scriptures, and two others in the extra-canonical.books of the Old Testament. But from the statement of the Apocalypse concerning the seven angels, Christian art has accepted seven archangelic beings, and has given attributes to each.
