Anglo Japanese
A style that appeared on silver and other decorative arts. Generally, Anglo Japanese furniture is delicate, composed of straight lines, and is usually ebonized. It is characterized by asymmetry, with a careful balance of solids and voids. Often, but not always, overt Japanese motifs are seen: butterflies, fans, fretwork and decorative devices.
