Evolved from mid-century developments of the Gothic style in British architecture. These developments included Charles Barry’s Houses of Parliament, Anglican and Roman Catholic churches, the flambouyant color and idiosyncratic antiquarianism of William Burges, and the most craftsmanly manifestations of the domestic Gothic by the Pre-Raphaelites and the firm Morris, MArshall, Faulkner and Company.
