8(a) Program
An SBA program for businesses owned by citizens who are socially and economically disadvantaged; a firm that is certified as 8(a) is eligible for sole source and limited competition government contracts; the SBA also provides technical assistance and training to 8(a) firms that can graduate from SBA programs after nine years.
