Literally the ‘white house estate’, developed by the Deutscher Werkbund as an exhibition of workers’ housing in Stuttgart… Directed by Mies van der Rohe, it included buildings by Le Corbusier, Gropius, and others, and got its name from the flat-roofed, white-painted minimalist International-Modern style of the houses which established paradigms for many years to come.
