A very simple cube-like capital with bottom corners tapered. The block capital is particularly characteristic of Ottonian and Romanesque Germany and England. See also capital, column. Other types of capital: Corinthian, crocket, foliate, historiated, Ionic. (Medieval Art, 2020)
