A truss in which one post was placed from the collar beam to the gable peak, often in connection with a ridgepole, on each gable end. On occasion two additional diagonal struts were placed adjacent to the foot of the king post and reached to the middle of each side of the gable. Photo from Poinsett State Park, South Carolina, 2016.
