Arabesque
Ornament consisting of garlands of foliage with figures, fancifully interlaced to form graceful curves. May be painted, inlaid, or carved in low relief. Sometimes contains illustrations of classical vases, people, and animals. Common in Roman or Renaissance architecture. Photo from New York City, New York, 2019. 2.
