Just outside of the Omelette Shoppe on Cass St in Traverse City is this simple parklet. Flanked by planters on a steel frame base – the rails and planking are all of fairly easy to source materials. The movable tables and chairs are perhaps the most expensive component. Given that fact they appear to be stacked and locked when not in use by the Omelette Shoppe. This is a missed opportunity for street vitality and for neighbors who might benefit from an activated public space for people to gather.
