A stone dressing method characterized by either continuous or non-continuous shallow grooves made by a pointed tool. The term rough pointed work is sometimes used to describe surfaces with non-continuous grooves approximately one inch apart, and the term fine pointed work for surfaces with non-continuous grooves approximately one-half inch apart. (Phillips, 1994)
