Charles N. Sturdevant (1854-1928) was a carpenter and contractor in Albion for more than forty years. Studevant’s parents came to Albion from Vermont in 1853. Sturdevant learned the carpentry trade as a youth. He built numerous homes throughout the city, as well as his own at 218 Austin Avenue, and several on N. Eaton Street.
