Public School Superintendent +
Following the death of superintendent Walkotten, administrative assistant John Schuring was named acting superintendent, a position he held from April 12 to June 30. Schuring had been connected with the Albion Public Schools since 1946, when he began teaching mathematics at Washington Gardner High School. Shuring was replaced as superintended by Dr. Carl Brautigam. He later became business manager for the school system, and served in that capacity until his retirement on July 1, 1970.
