Lotta Rogers was born in Gerber, Indiana, on Independence Day, 1896. She graduated from Albion College in 1923, and received her M.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 1928 in botany and zoology. She taught elementary school for a few years before returning to Albion College in 1923 as assistant, then instructor. She remained at the College until her retirement in 1966.
Lotta was a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a member of Beta Beta Beta (a biology honorary) and a member of the American Microscopic Society. One of her specialties in biology was geography. She was also an expert in advising her students in career planning. She died on August 13, 1987.
