John Munro, 1866
John Munro (1866-1947) was an Albion carpenter who did considerable work on Albion College properties. Born in Canada, Munro built numerous barns and other buildings in the thumb area of Michigan before coming to Albion in 1923. He was involved in the building of the Dean home (now Bellemont Manor at Albion College), the Archer Young home on E. Erie Street, and other construction projects. His daughter Elsie Munro was a longtime English professor at Albion College.
