Fred T. Lawler, 1861

Fred T. Lawler was an 1885 graduate of Albion High School who attended Albion College for a short time. Lawler became the community’s first industrial “short-hand” stenographer in 1886, and obtained a job with the Albion Manufacturing company, and later its successor, the Elms Buggy Company. Lawler went to work in 1892 for the Gale Manufacturing Company, where he was employed for twenty-nine years. P7
